Prasar Bharati, ICCR ink MOU to bring forth Indian culture

• To bring forth the best of Indian culture to the national and international audiences, Prasar Bharati, India's public broadcaster and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for promoting Indian culture.

Details of MOU

• The MOU paves way for the performances of the eminent artists associated with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), which will be telecasted on the national and International Channels of Doordarshan.
• The dance and music performances will be showcased on DD National, DD India, regional channels of Doordarshan and Prasar Bharati News Services (Digital Platform of Prasar Bharati) in the form of a weekly programme.
• Further, the MoU aims to bring forth the best of Indian Culture to the National and International audiences and provide TV and Digital platforms to the performing artists.
• In collaboration with ICCR, Doordarshan will produce 52 half an hour episodes, based on cultural events/concerts/performances of music/dance organized by ICCR.
• The MoU is signed for the span of 3 years from December 2021 till December 2024.

• It is an autonomous organisation of the Government of India, involved in India's global cultural relations, through cultural exchange with other countries and their people.
• It was founded on 9 April 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of independent India.
